Pupils will learn reading and writing skills through a bespoke SEND curriculum. Which includes RWI, Sensory stories, Colourful Semantics and Communication programmes

 

Pupils will explore the materials that the three little pigs built their houses out of straw

Pupils will make a sensory book to sequence and retell the three little pigs story

Learning in maths is very practical and meaningful. We follow the White Rose Maths Scheme at the correct level for individuals

Pupils will learn about their home, exploring a range of photographs of their home sent in by parents

Pupils will explore different household appliances, learning what each does and how to use them

SPRING 1

Penguins

Pupils will learn reading and writing skills through a bespoke SEND curriculum. Which includes RWI, Sensory stories, Colourful Semantics and Communication programmes

 

Pupils will:

  • Learn about the different types of cold weather (eg snow, frost, ice)
  • Learn about what to wear in the cold
  • Explore ice

Pupils will

  • Taste icy foods eg (ice cream, frozen lollies, smoothies)
  • Develop cutlery skills (ie using a spoon)

Teddy Bears

Pupils will learn reading and writing skills through a bespoke SEND curriculum. Which includes RWI, Sensory stories, Colourful Semantics and Communication programmes

 

Pupils will explore a range of materials linked to Goldilocks and the 3 Bears (eg hot and cold porridge, different chairs, and comfy furniture)

Pupils will explore lego, building things they can see in the story

Learning in maths is very practical and meaningful. We follow the White Rose Maths Scheme at the correct level for individuals

Pupils will learn how to operate a device to take photographs of a teddy bear in different locations around school

Pupils will learn and interact with the ‘My Teddy Bear’ song, following the actions on screen

SUMMER 1

Sunflowers

Pupils will learn reading and writing skills through a bespoke SEND curriculum. Which includes RWI, Sensory stories, Colourful Semantics and Communication programmes

 

Pupils will grow sunflowers, explore the different parts of a sunflower, and find out how to care for the sunflower

Pupils will taste different yellow foods each week (eg banana, sweetcorn, melon, lemon, pineapple, peppers, yellow tomatoes)

Learning in maths is very practical and meaningful. We follow the White Rose Maths Scheme at the correct level for individuals

Pupils will sing and move to the 5 little flowers song. They’ll also use sunflower seeds to make rain sticks / shakers to use throughout the song

Pupils will develop printing skills to create their own sunflower pictures

Pupils will explore a sensory area in the classroom, using talking tins (with sounds of the beach and sea) and iPad songs

Pupils will learn the key features and basic vocab linked to a beach
