A Warm Welcome From Our Principal
The Avenue is an independent specialist school offering expert support for children with complex autism and co-occurring conditions, aged 4 to 11.
Together we will open the door for a journey of self-discovery, so that all our children blossom and grow and find their place in the world. All our children have an EHCP, and we want every one of them to have the same opportunity to meet their potential. That is why we pride ourselves on our inclusive, friendly and welcoming environment.
The needs of the children are paramount, and we strongly believe in providing children with exciting, creative and meaningful learning experiences, which build their enthusiasm for learning and help them to grow and develop positively. We recognise that every child is unique, and we celebrate everyone’s success in the most meaningful way for each child.
It is crucial to involve children and their families as partners in their education. Which is why our school community thrives on mutual respect and values positive relationships with families. We know how vital working in partnership with parents is for children to find school a positive and rewarding experience. Therefore, as key educators in your children’s lives, it is important that you have a voice and that as a school we are approachable, sensitive to individual needs and always here to listen.
Whilst this introduction to our school is brief, I hope this has given you an indication of what The Avenue is about, and I warmly invite you to visit us to see for yourself.
Thank you,
Clare Cragg
Principal
